Fire and Ice by Robert Frost
It's been ages since they changed the poems on the subway. Every day I get on hoping that I'll read something new. But nothing.
Today, meandering around New York, a book shop invited me in. And then Robert Frost decided to show me a book of his poems.
So, here's one I hadn't read in a long, long time.
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To know that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
